I was born and raised in Canada and am grateful to live and work on the unceded ancestral and traditional territories of Indigenous peoples, specifically the Coast Salish.

I believe in the power of storytelling to move hearts, sway minds and inspire action. It’s something I’ve been practising since I was little. As soon as I learned how to use a writing instrument, I began filling journals and scrap pieces of paper with my words and drawings. When I was gifted my first kid’s camera (film!) at the age of nine, I began taking photographs and creating albums and scrapbooks. In high school, these hobbies were put to use in the yearbook club, where I not only shot candid and posed pictures of my peers but also had to keep a pulse on what was happening around school, attend events and write about them, come up with quippy captions and design page layouts to a deadline.

Perhaps this foreshadowed my future pursuits in journalism and communications.

In university I majored in English with a focus on Literature. When I wasn’t in class, I was reading books, writing essays and attending a volunteering club where I was in charge of events. That was my first experience leading a team and organizing fundraisers. I found I loved it—and was good at it.

After completing my bachelor’s degree, I pursued my master’s. At journalism school, I improved my skills in writing feature articles and breaking news stories, recording voiceovers and conducting video interviews. To support my studies, I found work at a non-profit organization where I get to contribute to the social wellness of communities as the manager of charitable partnerships and communications.

Whether it is through traditional formats like print newsletters or contemporary channels like Facebook Live, I have nearly a decade of professional experience helping individuals and organizations convey their important messages to their target audiences authentically and successfully.

Helping others tell their stories is my privilege and joy. If you are interested in working with me, please send me an email. I am available for freelance projects and enjoy connecting with people.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. I look forward to getting to know you 🙂
